On November 27, 2024, LTIO Seoul co-organized the Cross-Border Ecosystem Builders Forum, focusing on Luxembourg’s vibrant startup and business environment, and bringing together key players from the startup ecosystem in the Daejeon area. Daejeon, known for its strong research and think tanks in science and technology, is also home to many spin-off startups emerging from research organizations. The event served as an important platform for networking and knowledge-sharing among industry leaders. The forum was co-organized with The Garrison, Daejeon Center for Creative Economy & Innovation, and KAIA (Korea Startup Accelerator and Early-Stage Investors Association).

LTIO Director Thierry Santer and Senior Trade and Investment Advisor Rebecca Koo shared valuable insights on Luxembourg as a gateway to the European market, highlighting its strategic importance for international startups looking to expand in Europe and beyond. Mr. James Kim, CEO of Data Design Engineering, also shared his firsthand experience of doing business in and through Luxembourg, emphasizing the market’s connection with the European and global stages, as well as the pro-business regulatory environment and outstanding IT infrastructure.

LTIO Seoul had the opportunity to meet with companies in the space and bio sectors, as well as local accelerators. They also had the chance to reconnect with the global team from the Fintech Center Korea, further advancing efforts to accelerate the growth of the Korean Fintech Ecosystem. LTIO Seoul was also invited to visit Daejeon Tips Town, operated by KISED, where they gained valuable insights into the dynamic environment for tech startups supported by Korea’s renowned accelerator program, TIPS, in the Daejeon region. LTIO Seoul continues to encourage successful Korean Tech Startups to explore opportunities in Luxembourg as they expand into the European market.
