After the tech conference Arch Summit in 2022, a market interest trial in 2023 and a presentation at the Luxembourg tech confab Nexus2050 in June, the South Korean startup Codepresso finalised its incorporation in July and on 18 October 2024 officially launched its operations in the grand duchy.
“Whenever I meet Korean startups looking to expand into Europe, I always talk about how amazing Luxembourg is–the business-friendly environment here,” said Codepresso CEO Donghun Lee. “I always encourage them to come to Luxembourg together with us.”
Codepresso, which was chosen as the winning startup out of roughly 200 pitches during the Nexus2050 conference, provides companies with quantitative, project-based assessments that can test candidates applying for tech jobs, hands-on training, data-driven management and a cross-border IT recruitment platform. It has also been selected for the Scaleup-X programme organised by Tomorrow Street, a joint venture between Vodafone, the grand duchy’s economy ministry and the technology incubator Technoport.
The startup’s launch event gathered HR and recruitment specialists and featured speeches by Marc Ernsdorff, foreign trade attaché for South Korea at Luxembourg’s foreign affairs ministry, and Minjeong Baek, director at Global Digital Innovation Network (GDIN, an agency that’s part of the South Korean ministry of science and ICT), as well as a discussion on the use of IT assessment tools between Cathy Schwartz, head of talent acquisition and HR administration at the Luxembourg Institute of Science and Technology (List) and Zach Traer, senior recruiter at the social media management platform Hootsuite.
Founded in 2019, Codepresso has a team of around 35 people and revenue of roughly $3m.
